Connect has constantly pushed the sounds of Jungle Tekno, through to the Jungle and Drum and Bass that he plays today. Connect is known for his creativity and energetic mixing style which has led to him having residencies and overseas bookings alongside some of the scenes greatest acts, such as Marky, Andy C and Randall.

DJ Poison

One of Hull’s original pirate radio DJs, having hosted shows on Twilight, Unity and Festival FM. With over 20 years of turntable experience behind him, Poison is regarded for pushing Jungle at a time when not many in the city were aware of the music’s emergence, then later for taking things in a different direction and establishing himself as Hull’s no.1 Liquid Funk DJ. Versatile enough to mix all styles of Drum & Bass in one set, Poison has appeared on line-ups with some of the world’s finest – Randall, Mickey Finn, The Scratch Perverts, Marky and Calibre to name a few, and has held down residencies at local D&B night Shinobi and in Poland with Drumatic Association.

Music vampire bat feeding on sound. After 10 years as a dnb dJ focused only on vinyl, became interested in producing music by pressing buttons and using controllers. He is absorbed by the sounds of childhood: funk, hip hop, trip hop. After a while decides to pursue his musical passions in the comfort of a home studio preparing for a big re-launch of his music journey. You can’t really pigeonhole and classify the sounds that come out off desmodus’s fingers. It’s a mixture of dubstep, trap, future bass, breaks and mighty electro house. All the material rather oscillates between 70bpm-150bpm. Pumping beats and heavy bass lines – that’s what you can expect from this freaky fella!

Final Edit final edit (3)

Upon discovering the liquid scene in 2010, Final Edit aka Sam Whitwell found his passion for dnb and quickly moved to emulate his heroes. Starting off with only Virtual DJ to flex his creative muscles on, he invested in a four channel Numark controller which earned him the recognition of the Hull Dance Radio crew.

Since taking on his Sunday evening slot, the fresh-faced Bartonian has gone from strength-to-strength, playing several gigs at Funktion alongside Connect and Poison as well as making considerable strides in production with the don that is Humanature.

Russ.P aka ViRussrussp (2)

He has been mixing for around 18 years starting out with hard house in the early 2000’s.
He quickly took a shine to trance and even more so the harder edge of trance; “hard trance”.
After a couple of years playing the decks Russ got into the production side of music and over time learnt and developed his sound to produce music and has releases on digital labels under his alias “ViRuss”.
Russ took on his first club set at 17 years old, then progressed onto playing for Eat Your Words numerous times over the years until its end just recently.

Reg started djing in 2001 when trance was in its boom period. The DJs and producers that influenced him in the early days were the likes of Ferry Corsten, AVB, and Above & Beyond. Reggie has held residencies at several local trance nights which include Tranceform, Superstars and Let’s Av’ It’!! He also played on pirate radio station Sweet FM. His music style has changed somewhat from those early years to a more mature, melodic yet still uplifting, progressive style of trance.
